Heaven Come Home in Omaha

Just days ago I was sitting in a filled theater in Omaha awaiting the anticipated first reading of Justin Payne and Dani Cleveland’s Heaven Come Home.

Justin and I first met in 2020 at a virtual cabaret as part of Ken Davenport’s Theater Makers Studio virtual theater conference. As soon as I heard Justin’s singing voice and sensed his passion, I knew I wanted to work with him.

Fast forward two years and two pandemic set-backs later, and we were finally in front of an audience sharing our story.

Listen to the audience breath in the last beats as the Brandi reads the final stage directions. Then hear how they respond. That’s heavenly! Cheers to a big step forward a more to come.
